Well that had been... interesting. It was nice they had done something for the kids though she guessed. At the end, she was caught back up in conversation. Her attention broke off the group again when Reese walked up with the very bubbly girl. Leslie was a bit taken aback by his looks. What the hell was that for? Now she was even more confused and a bit uncomfortable. So much even, she kind of felt the need to move onward.
Excusing herself from the crowd, she headed back to the stables to check on the horses one last time before dismissing herself for the evening. Meanwhile, her little brain was working overtime to figure out what the hell just happened.

The excitement drew to a close soon enough the show went on with its next event leaving Kristie more into it then ever. She was going to run Drake in a few more games the evening so Reese left the gelding there and wondered back up to the barn. Out of site of the arena he pulled off the pink shirt, it was a little much but he had to do what he had to do.
Reese wasn't in the finest of moods as he entered the barn, tossing the shirt onto a tack trunk in their make shift tack room he grabbed a bail of hay and began feeding. It was going to be a good night to drowned his thoughts in booze. Finishing off the hay he retreated back into the tack stall to mix grain.

Leslie saw him, and was trying to keep everything on the DL. It bothered her though. Extremely. It was like an itch she couldn't scratch, as much as she tried. Being Leslie, she found another alternative. Make him scratch that itch. "What the hell is wrong with you?" She wasn't yelling. It was more of a stern intrigue.
Stepping forward, she found a comfortable place to stop. Pretty much in the middle of the aisle way, "First, you're all talk. Then you're quiet and not showing interest... and then you pull that 'I'm checking you out' look. Are you bipolar or something?!" Alas, this was Miss Hawthorne when she started thinking too much.

"Easy killa." He said not looking up up from the grain. "I'm as bipolar as they come miss." He moved past her balancing a set of grain buckets. Opening Chaos's door he dumped the grain into the bin and tossed the bucket back towards the tack room before moving to the next stall. "Why does it bother you so much? Don't you have that other guy that you swear up and down you hate." He said over his shoulder before opening another stall.
"You know I thought this was all weren't like the rest but guess I was wrong. I ain't wasting my breath on someone that is just like my ex?" Leaving it at that he stacked the buckets back by the grain bag. From the looks of it he was going to die a lonely old man. "I understand I'm not the easiest to read but neither are you cowgirl. Your acting the same way I am, except I don't go running around sleeping with every girl here." Ok so he was very annoyed by what he saw earlier. He hardly knew the girl so it shouldn't be bothering him this much-but sadly it did.

Pursing her brows as he spoke, she hadn't a clue as to what he was talking about, until he became more specific. It made sense now, well a little. "Are you talking about Carson? Give me some credit here, Reese! For Christ's sake. That was a long time ago, and he was just being an ass trying to go for it again, and you're being an ass for not knowing the whole story and assuming things that you have no business mulling over!" Call her defensive. Pushing her hair out of her face, she shook her head, "Have I given you a reason to think I'm that way, besides just talk? Because if you want to go off of talking here, you're just as guilty as I am."
That was a sad fact for her - all talk. No action. Sad days. Turning to walk off, she turned right back around; not ready to give up the fight just yet, "And so what? What if I had slept with him? What difference does it make to you? What interest have you shown? And who are you, barely knowing who I am, to make these judgements? 'Cause Reese honey, last time I checked, I was still single. Which is more than I can say for you - at least I've been loyal in my relationships," that last bit was a bit below the belt, she knew that. She hadn't really meant to say it but the foot in mouth disease just trumped her sometimes.

"You're completely right." He said coldly. Her last comment didn't well, clenching his fists behind his back he moved towards Chaos's stall for a second before turning and facing her. "You're right I don't know the whole story with you and that barrel chasing fairy but you sure as fuck don't know the full story with me."
He was silent for a second sorting through all the thoughts rushing around his head. "This is a pointless conversation, we both know that. Why are we even fighting." He said more calm. "Guess this is what i get for sharing something from my past." With that he walked past her and back towards the arena, where his mom and Kristie were starting to walk back. Kristie broke away from his mom and ran towards Reese, the blue ribbon still in hand. Scooting down he gave her a hug goodnight before heading towards the arena.

"That makes two of us apparently," she spoke back to him as he walked off. Pissed off, disgusted and feeling just like hell, she went back to her trailer, locking herself in the living quarters and playing sick the next day. Why was life so horribly difficult at times? Why did she even care so much that she'd upset him when she knew it was so easy to set him off?
Hiding beneath piles of blankets and pillows like a reclusive turtle, she had a visitor. An unexpected visitor who tried his best to get her out of this said funk. After the visitor left, she got up, dressed beautifully in her pajama pants, wrinkled tshirt and flip flops.
Looking for the man she'd upset last night, and unable to find him - she found the next best person, his mom. "Mrs.Miller? Can you maybe tell me where Reese is?"

He spent the next of the evening watching the events, and spending time with his mom and some of her students around the fire. Deciding drinking wasn't his best bet. He went to bed unusually early and rose before the others. Finishing the morning chores he lunged Chaos, nothing hard just let him buck and blow off some steam from being cooped up all day yesterday.
For the third day in a row he found himself being their little groom. This time though he got to sneak away for a bit using the excuse the stalls needed to be cleaned. He hadn't put much thought into last night, more so into Leslie's last comment to him, about him being a cheater. It was starting to eat at him, he wasn't the kind of person to cheat but yet he did. Drunk or not he went against his own morals for some sleazy one night stand.
Mrs. Miller stood next to the in gate watching her students like a hawk. Barking orders as they went by. A little startled she took her eyes off the arena "He is cleaning stalls dear." She said cheerfully before turning back to the arena and continuing to coach her students.

"Thanks," She nodded and walked off towards the barn. Damn, she hoped he was in a better mood. She looked absolutely awful and ridiculous, maybe that'd make him feel better. With a sigh, she entered the stables, and she watched him silently for awhile before finally approaching him in her bedhead glory. "I have something to say to you," she liked to imagine that struck fear and panic in him, "I'm sorry. I did exactly what I accused you of doing."
Cracking her knuckles a bit, she nodded and sighed. That was hard for her - admitting she was wrong. Feeling a bit stupid and frumpy, she shook her head, "I just... hope you didn't take it too hard."

The sound of Leslie's voice startled him a little "it's fine cowgirl, I'm over it." Pushing the wheelbarrow out of the stall, he unclipped the horse and shut the door. Pushing the wheelbarrow off to the side he leaned up against the stall. "I'll be fine don't worry about me, what I did concerns her and I. That's why I don't tell people....I don't like my past mistakes thrown in my face."
It was odd, he really wasn't that mad about the whole thing. Maybe it was just him ageing. He looked at her, taking in her appearance. "Rough night?" His tone was a little excusing and a little playful. It was open to interpretation. "Round two maybe?" He joked reaching for his soda on the ground and taking a long drink.

"Oh shut up," Scoffing and shaking her head at his comment on her appearance, she was unable to hide her faint grin. "At least I'm wearing clothes, okay?" Unfortunately, Leslie had been the horrible victim of a drunken night at college, where she and several other girls went streaking. Eh well, she'd keep that little story to herself.
She shrugged, "Round two of another verbal argument? No, I was thinking we could do this man-to-man, old school, trading punches... Interesting fact; my name use to be Lance." Trying to throw the awkwardness by finding humor in a dark place was one of her best efforts. "So, it wasn't - but I'm pretty sure I could beat you up." Winning her fair share of fights, never EVER meant she actually fought fair. She was sly like that.

"That's not exactly what I meant by round two but let's keep it at that." Deciding against explaining himself, another fight would emerge if he did. "We fight like an old married couple."Joking he went back to his chores. He was slower then usual, just so he didn't have too become slave boy again.
"Yes you will defiantly beat me, I stand no chance at all...Lance." A smile crept across his face as he added the last part, this name may take the place of cowgirl. Not really...he was pretty found of cowgirl.

Leslie nodded, "Eh yeah, but we're far from old and far from married so I'm not sure where that leaves us," smiling genuinely, it entertained her that he was thinking that way. A grin breaking, "See? Now that you know I was a dude, that should make you feel more comfortable about your homo self." Though she knew she was probably speaking to the man who was the furthest thing from gay possible.
She was still having conflicting thoughts about him. Did she go for it and just tell him? Or did she keep quiet, and drive herself mad? It was probably best to just keep her mouth shut, having said enough things to bury herself in a hole. "... but if I'm Lance, you have to be Armstrong - and you know what that means..." she hesitated, "It either means you're a moon man, or you have one family jewel. So what is it, Cowboy? To infinity and beyond, or livestrong?"

"You being a man makes me completely ok with my sexuality." Trying his hardest to keep a solid face, but he was failing miserably. "I secretly loved wearing all pink last night. It was like a dream come true...Maybe I'll wear it more often now that I'm so open about everything."
The heat was beginning to become unbearable and he still had to ride. Pulling Chaos from his stall he started currying the sweat marks off of him. Chaos didn't need to be glamed up by any means but Reese always cared about the turn out of horse and rider. It was one of his pet peeves. "infinity and beyond...I prefer to have both my jewels."

Blushing faintly her eyes cast down to the floor and of course, that would change, "Well at least you still have yours... I guess. I don't miss mine - no more strange little erections popping up everywhere." No pun intended. Something much more malicious came to her mind, and the sinister look on her face just oozed her ill intent to perhaps disturb him. Shrugging her brows, her face went rather placid, "I do have boobs now though. They're not huge; I've been thinking of getting a bigger size. What do you think?" By her tone, it actually sounded like she wanted his input. Of course, Leslie would never get a boob job - but Reese didn't know that and she was eager to see his reaction. There was this desire within her that wanted to see him blush, or be completely shocked - just once.
