Having finished with Sayda for the day Marie walked over to the English tack area. Placing the saddle on it's stool, and the bridle on it's perch she rubbed her fingers together before motioning Reese over. She was sure he'd do so after settling his stallion down. Meanwhile she walked along the corridor, greeted with nickers and snorts of the stalled horses. Coming to her stall, she watched the black gelding pop head head up and over his stall door.
A sharp neigh greeted her as she walked up to him patting his cheek gently. Grasping the white lead, she clipped it onto his white nylon halter. Anthem nickered gently as she unlatched his stall door and lead him out. His hooves thudded the paved floor, ears pulled forward eagerly. Nickering gently, he nibbled on her shoulder lightly as sh closed the stall door. Looking back she lead him back to where she was certain Reese would be with his stallion, un-tacked.
The black gelding relaxed, only glancing at the dark worked horse before resting his head heavily on her shoulders. His mane resting on the left side of his neck, tail flicking here and there on his hocks. "And this is my new boy, Anthem" She said, while patting his muzzle gently.

Goose bumps raced up his arms as the cool air of the barn rushes over his skin. It wasn't a drastic change in temperature but it was enough of a relief for both Reese and Chaos. Clipping him in the cross-ties, Reese began the long task of untacking and cooling him down. Pulling the saddle off the studs back he placed a hand on his chest. Chaos was cool enough to be put away. Reese was never one to rinse off a horse after every work, unless they needed their legs done or needed help cooling off. Luckily for him Chaos had a lazy day and despite the heat stayed Farley cool.
Catching quick glances of Marie doing her thing every now and then. From the looks and sounds of it they were the only ones that were in the barn. It wasn't exactly the best time of day, you could hardly breath without sweating. The dull echo of steel shoes rang through the barn, causing Chaos to raise his head and inspect the incoming horse. It didn't take long for the stud to relax again, letting the cross-ties hold the weight of his head. Finishing fly spraying the horse Reese turned around at the sound of Marie's voice. He did a quick once over of the seemingly calm horse. "He is a looker." He said as he walked around the horse. "Built nice." Nodding he returned to Chaos. "What are your plans for him?"

Anthem watched the man walk around him and simple turned a lazy eye, looking back to the stallion on the cross ties. Zulmarie let him stand there, tail swishing every couple of moments as Reese inspected him. "I don't know for sure, but since he's Appendix, I'm thinking Barrels and Pole bendin' for this boy. What do you think?" She said as she stroked the gelding's neck softly. Small snorts fell from his nares as his outer ear followed Reese in the walk around. "His name is National Anthem, but I call him Anthem"
"Yea he sure is the pretty boy, got him at an auction" Marie answered to Reese as she slipped her hand over his withers. She felt his skin shudder under her touch, but not in a bad way. He dropped a shimmer before shaking his head out some and standing up some. This time Anthem turned his head around to stare at Reese before extending his neck out, his nose a few inches from the man's shoulder. Something Marie liked about this boy, he was very friendly with other people, not only herself.

"Well have you done any of that stuff? Let alone ride in a western saddle?" This was said without being short, it came out very monotone which made him hard to read. He didn't want to be rude at all, he just knew a lot of girls that couldn't cut it in that discipline. They try their hand at being a cowgirl but it last about a week and the horses end up exactly where Marie got her horse, an auction. "Auctions are a good place to get a horse if you know what you are looking for." His eyes doing another once over of the horse.
"I can't really help you with this whole barrel thing. It's not exactly my area of expertise." Before these words could even leave his mouth Chaos decided to be impatient, striking the concrete with his hoof. It wasn't exactly what Reese wanted to listen to. Turning away from Marie and her horse he quickly unclipped Chaos and led him a few feet away to his stall. Once inside the stud circled it slowly before falling to his knees with a soft grunt. Laying in the shavings for a second before rolling. Leaving his golden coat sprinkled with shavings. A small laugh escaped Reese as he turned back towards the others "So what can I do for you?"

The black gelding's ears slowly flopped to their side as he rubbed the top of his head against Marie's shoulder. Anthem watched quietly as the man led his stud into it's stall. Huffing quietly he rested his head back on Marie's shoulders and closed his eyes lazily. Lightly Marie scratched his cheek before shaking her head to Reese question before she talked. "Yea, no not really alot of western. In all honesty she'd never doe much western riding, scratching her chin she seemed to stare off into space. And then she remembered, the times with her mother before looking back to Reese.
"And on western, did so a few times back when I was a pre-teen, when mom took me out on trail rides here and now, but that's been it. English riding was all around me as I grew up so it's what I took." Zumarie seemed stoic about mentioning her mother. She and her didn't carry a good, healthy mother to daughter relationship so it could of been common perhaps. "Well I want to start on how to properly handle a horse on western saddle, balance my seat and what not. I'm not going to say it's easier or anything because I don't know to judge but I'm willing to learn something new. Oh yea and aside from racing, I'd like to learn 'cutting'"
