Russia and Codak had been out for a quick hack, cantering around the outdoor ring and doing some balance exercises for the long-legged mare. However, they were interrupted, by an afternoon storm, which was relatively common in the warm climate of Texas. Out of nowhere, a clap of thunder rang across the air and the skies opened up, immediately pouring on them. The mare wasn't phased at all, but regardless, Codak jumped off of her and rolled her stirrups up, leading her back to the barn. He gave a resigned sigh. The rest of their workout would have to wait until tomorrow.
The rain grew harder, so he picked up a jog, the mare trailing behind him. Most horses would be skittish when caught in a storm, but Russia rather liked it. She was probably just thinking of how much she wanted to play in it. Maybe even roll in some mud in Codak's expensive tack- just to see how mad she could get him. It wouldn't be the first time, anyways. Finally, they reached the main barn. Codak heaved the large doors open and ushered the mare inside, shutting the door behind him. Finally, he had a chance to take a breath and look himself and his horse over. He laughed softly has he patted Russia, seeing how completely soaked they were. "Come on girl," He said, heaving a kind pat on the horse's neck. "Lets get ourselves dried off."
He led the mare down near her stall and slipped her bridle off, replacing it with her pretty leather halter. He let go of her then, as she (usually) stood like a lady while he untacked her. Presently, she just stood still and nosed at Codak's tack box, knowing it was the source of all things delicious. After the boy removed her tack, he opened the box and fed her a peppermint. The happy filly tossed her head up and down in thanks. Codak then grabbed a towel off the door of her stall, and began to wipe at her soaked neck, wanting to dry her at least a bit before he put her up for the night.

Marc was in the indoor, working a four year old for a short while to give her some exercise. Yes, it was his new dressage prospect. The leggy bay Hanoverian filly was quite a mover, very stylish and modern in her look. The man loved this girl, as she'd been born to his older mare who had died shortly after foaling out. Poke, as she was lovingly named, was bottle fed from day one, becoming a huge puppy dog to everyone, especially Marc.
After a short schooling around the arena, he rubbed the filly on the neck, dismounting her and taking her to her stall where he would untack her. He nodded in greeting to the other, "How are you?" He was the more tactful of the two Hawthorne children and thus why he was the barn manager.
He undid the girth quickly, pulling the fittings up and securing them before unbridling her and leaving her to roll in her shavings as she set the tack on the stand and gathered a couple of brushes. She was shaking off all the bedding that had clung to her coat as he returned.

One big heavy raindrop fell on Zulmarie's hat as she rounded the black stud in three tight figure eights. He only gave one snort of discontent, he hated getting wet. He know that was all he needed to get Marie to pull on the reins and pat his neck gently. "Alright boy, were done for today" She whispered to him, dis mounting and quickly pulling Anthem after her. Looking up to the gray clouds overhead, she knew it would break soon. Rein's in one hand she lead him towards the east entrance of the barn. -_-_-_- Along the way, the black horse nibbled on her wrist lightly, ears flicking back and then forward again. Chuckling softly, Zulmarie swatted at his nose, only to have him start playing with her hair. "What are you tring to do eh?" She was glad she hadn't gone to the hair salon today in the morning. Zulmarie was fairly new to western riding, only having a little over 1 year in it's discipline. It was more of a funny exchange, she had seen the gelding's for-sale ad and she knew she just Had
[/u] to have him. -_-_-_- By now they had entered the barn, his head held up to glance at theo ther horses around before settling to keep his throat on her shoulder. Right after Zulmarie closed the doors she felt the slap of thunder followed shortly by the rain. Glad to beat mother nature, she reached back and pulled her hair loose of her scrunchy which Anthem had made sure to moisten. Most of the horses in the barn were used to thunder and they didn't really mind it much, nickering gently in their direction, ears flicked forward. The black gendling met most of them with a lightl squeal as Zulmarie tied him to the cross ties, clipping one to his bridal. -_-_-_- She was quite oblivious to when Marc Hawthorne passed with his filly, a dressage horse. Anthem on the other hand did not, and extended his head to lightly nip at the filly's flanks but missed. A short serious of snorts unveiled from his lips as he flicking his tail, slapping it against his haunches before settling down. By now she had his saddle and pad removed, now she was at his leather splint boots. Being done there soon, she came to his head, scratching his long forehead before clipping his bridle off, replacing it with a soft red nylon halter. -_-_-_- Soon she had him lightly brushed down when she heard the other barn doors close. Looking over her shoulder she spotted a guy she had seen before, what was his name.. ah yes Codak.. something. He hadn't struck the same luck as her mount did, both were layered in water from the downpour outside. His lovely bay mare was an aristocrat, long and leggy, very similar to Sayda. Anthem bobbed his head up and down, before neighing loudly trying to get the mare's attention. Raising a brow Marie could only chuckle before vanishing into the tack room to set down anthem's stuff. -_-_-_- Returning, she grasped his lead, walking him to his stall, on her way passing Codak. "How was today's practice?"She asked, placing a towel for himself on his shoulder. The gelding stood quietly next to her, simply eying the filly curiously, ears slipping sideways as his neat forelock leaned over behind his rich dark eyes.[/color][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote] W.or.d Counter xxx | Five.Seven.Six Do.lls xxx | Zulmarie & Anthem Tag.ged xxx | Codek & Marc [/sub]

It had been a good morning. Jace took Teddy out to the pasture and let her run around for a few hours while he laid in the tall grass and took a nap. But the mare didn't stray too far from Jace. They were inseperable. Teddy is Jace's pride and joy and he hoped one day to breed her and see what amazing foal she threw at him. But that was in the future because right now, Teddy was in her prime and doing very well in all her shows. Jace was very proud of her.
But now it was time to go inside. It was getting rather warm now and Jace wanted to go inside. Teddy was off grazing but as soon as he called for her, she looked up for him and trotted over. Good girl. Lets go cool off. Teddy nickered as Jace clipped the lead to her halter and he lead her to the gate of the pasture. The mare followed quietly as he lead her out of the pasture and towards the barn. He would give Teddy a good grooming and let her relax in her stall.
As the pair entered the barn, it seemed to be quite busy today. He noticed a gathering of two people and two horses where he was headed to put Teddy away. Might as well say hi since he really didn't know anyone yet. As he got closer he gave them a smile and a nodd. Hello. His voice was friendly and calm. Jace was one that was always calm and collected. Teddy stood quietly behind him.

Glancing away from Codek for a moment, she glanced up to see an overo paint mare lead by another guy she didn't know. Anthem looked from the two mares before snorting, nudging the back of Zulmarie to push her forward as the other guy said his greetings. Passing him a smile she moved out of the center of the barn way, lightly pulling Anthem's halter to lead him. "Oh hi there"
She greeted him with a very light tone as Anthem rested his big head on her shoulder, gazing at the stunningly coated mare that he led. Giving small grunts he squealed at her and placed his back hoof at a hilt, relaxing his weight on three legs, tail swishing from side to side. "Haven't seen you before, even though I'm new myself, I'm Zulmarie." After she mentioned her name, Anthem nickered softly, pulling his ears forward curiously and then letting them relax back against his mane.
Resting her hand back, she leaned it on his soft velvety muzzle, tapping between his nostrils gently.
