A mass of rich ginger chestnut cantered away from the barnyard. Finally Sayda was on her hack, the mare hated being cooped up in her stall. Being in there she was forced to endeavor the looks of stallions and other people alike. Ears pinned back she asked for more lead but Zulmarie kept a tight check on the reins. "Soon girl soon" Zulmarie cooed her angst mare as she flowed to the three beat rocking horse gait. -------------- Sayda threw her head up, wanting to again pick up the pace, her nare's flexed wide. Laughing Zulmarie tugged back on the reins loosely to keep her in check once more. Even at a canter the long legged animal was fast, looking over her shoulder, they were farther away from the main road to the barn now. This academy didn't offer steeple chasing, which had more then grieved Sayda. But the care the horses received here was 5 star quality, and Zulmarie couldn't resist. --------------- Knowing Sayda missed the running, she leaned up a bit over her neck, much like a jockey does, pulling the reins further up her mane and giving a light kick of her stirrups against her barrel. Snorting Sayda bounced forward, her four legs working now as she switched strides to gain a gallop. Being one of the tallest hotblooded horses around, and the only 'steeple chaser', Sayda was Marie's pride and joy. While astride her back, Zul's looked around to see if there were any fallen timbers she could use as jumps, well that was hard, astride a fast mare in full then. Sayda's mane flicking against her face as the wind tasseled them in slapped currents. ----------------- The day was very young to her, as she pushed her chestnut bodice forward with amazing precision and speed. Shoulders and hindquarters glistened with powerful, young energy as each hoof thudded powerfully onto the ground below them. Now Zulmarie began to sit up n the saddle, slowly loosening the lead she had given that ecstatic mare. Huffing various snorts, Sayda pulled at the bit, swinging her head up and down, muscles flexing at the curves of her neck line. "We still have the rest of the afternoon girl, calm down" Zulmarie said with a giggle, patting Sayda's neck in approval. ------------------ She calmed down and just kept bobbing her head, being slowed to a perky trot to move along now. Looking around again, Zulmarie wondered if anyone was around and just relaxed in her seat. She would let the chestnut enjoy the hack with or without company to her rider.

The Texas sun had taken a tole on chaos's sun kissed coat. Now darken with sweat the pair moved at a slow lope down the trail. the sudden shade felt good. Sitting back Reese slowed Chaos to a walk, allowing both of them to rest in the shade. A thin line of white lather had formed from the reins touching the studs damped neck.
Taking the opportunity to send out a text or two, Reese left the stud to his own devices. It probably wasn't the smartest thing he could have done, Chaos was known to blow up at his own shadow but then again it wasn't anything new to Reese. He had eaten dirt a few times due to these freak outs but it was all in the job title.
Shoving his phone back in his pocket he decided to take Chaos's mind of the 'scary' environment. Raising his reins a little, making the stud snap his muzzle to his chest, he added in a touch by the spur sending them sideways across the trail. Dropping the reins he gave Chaos a quick pat before sending him forward in a lope.
Reaching the opening in the trees Chaos shot his head in the air and let out a soft nicker. His muscles tensed, ready to explode. Sitting back in the saddle and lightly touching the reins he made Chaos back a few strides to get his mind back on reality. Didn't work. Rolling his eyes Reese allowed Chaos to walk forward.

Various snorts expelled from the leggy female as her black muzzle had grown small lather of foam, which dripped from her lips. Sayda kept mouthing the bit, but Zulmarie had learned her little trick and had reinforced the snaffle bit with an extra lead. Slowly letting the leather rein settle between her bare fingers, exposed from her fingerless black gloves; she sat further into the seat of the saddle. The muscles beneath her rolled and trembled once more, getting tensed up. ----------- "Hmm, what is it Sayda?" She mumbled quietly, looking up ahead to where the trail curved and then back to Sayda. Squealing and grunting, the chestnut move forward, ears swiveled forward until Marie could hear the sound of hooves heading their way. Quickly collecting her reins, just in-case her sassy mare decided to play tag with the oncoming horse and rider. Taking her gray eyes of her mount to look up ahead, she finally saw the rider astride a dark palomino horse. The mare flicking her tail, sidestepping from the trail, knees raised as Zulmarie tugged her muzzle, forcing her to arch the neck. This worked in keeping her in check as the duo neared.

Wide eyes Chaos stood, his muscle quivered under the saddle.. Relishing it was nothing that had the possibility to kill him he relaxed back to his normal self. Reese shock his head slightly at the horse, he would never fully understand what sets him off and what doesn't
From the looks of it he had yet again stumbled apon another english rider. There was just no end to them, they were like roaches. Nudging the stud forward, there was no need to sit around and wast day light because of another rider "Sorry about that." He called as the pair approached.
Giving the two horses distance he added "I'm Reese by the way." He was never one to be rude. Probably his up bringing. Most people would have just ridden by in a huff, or at least that was his experience since he has been here. It was an excellent facility but it was full off airheads and most of the time it made his blood boil with their rude behavior.

Sayda was interested in getting closer to the male, even if Zulmarie wanted her to stay put aside. She let the reins slip along her fore finger, giving her some lead as the mare actually stayed calm as both of them approached. Quiet surprised, she stroked her mare's neck and then looked back to meet his smile. He was a western rider, something rare in the academy, but that wasn't a bad thing. "No no it's okay" She called back, glancing to Sayda again. --------- The mare was behaving perfectly, now Zulmarie was dumbstruck. Looking back up at the man, who dubbed himself as Reese, she smiled. "My name's Zulmarie, but call me Marie" Once more she eyed Sayda as the mare nickered gingerly at the palomino, ears pushed forward in mellow interest. "Huh.. well this is new, ain't it funny how horses never stop amazing us?" Marie asked as she stood a few feet away now, with an actually calm Sayda. "See Sayda here, tends to avoid other horses, and when on a trail ride, she'll go insane.. so for me, this is surprising" -------- Zulmarie was good at making small talk, particularly about horses. Looking back to him, small films of her bags tapped her rounded cheek. She studied his attire and his tack, and from there she could tell he was hardcore western. She made a mental note about it, to ask him about his discipline later on. She had to learn western for Anthem's sake, since the gelding took no English what so ever. But for the love of the horse, it was something she figured was worth learning, a new riding style.

"Yeah it is." He said looked down at the half asleep horse. Guess the heat had gotten to him. Fine by Reese, rinding a bronc wasn't always fun. "This guy is just scared of his own shadow, push button as hell but scared of his own shadow."A small smile appeared on his face as he looked back down at Chaos. Everyday was different with him.
"I've noticed most english horses are uncontrollable airheads." He slightly laughed. Ok that was a little obvious that he didn't care for the other discipline. It was a tad bit hypocritical on his part because of Chaos's actions at times. It was to late to take back what had been said and he sure wasn't going to let a little argument with a stranger ruin his day.

Laughing Zulmarie nodded shortly to his words. "Save a few exceptions, that's very true" She said, patting Sayda's mane as the side step the mare once more until she was standing a bit alongside Reese's calm stallion. "I wouldn't say Sayda's an air head, she's very uh, how do name it, Intense?" Leaning over some, she adjusted her stirrup before sitting back to a comfortable position on the saddle. "At least she's got a big heart, I can credit her that" A small nicker rolled of her muzzle as she leaned her head over and lightly pressed it on the stallion's throat before standing quietly besides him. Her tail flicking slowly at her hocks as she waited to be lead forward by her handler's command. ------ "Let's finish this trail" Marie offered as she set Sayda forward in a placid walk, glancing back at Reese to see if he would follow. "So how long have you had your lovely mount?" Her voice held slow interest, he seemed like a seasoned cowboy, so she figured that she could ask him for help in the near future with her other mount. A small neigh billowed from the mare's lips, as if cooing the stallion to follow as well, leaving no benefit of doubt.

Intense?Haven't heard that one before." Laughing he added "I guess that works." It probably worked with his horse too. Chaos outstretched his muzzle to the mare before snapping it back with a squeal. "Cut it out." Chaos tended to act more like a mare then he did a stud.
Joining the pair down the trail he made sure to keep Chaos at a safe distance so nothing drastic happened. "Well my parents have owned him since he was a yearling and he has officially mine for four years." Reining and cutting were not the first plans everyone had for Chaos, they tried to form him into a pleasure horse but he flunked badly, but hey Reese wasn't complaining. "How about you two?"

Sayda trotted along quietly, one ear curved inwards and the other forward. Zulmarie listened quietly, looking from the stallion back to Reese. "Since a yearling? Nice" It was impressive to see someone have their horse for over a year or two. But then again, he was a cowboy, and they were much more loyal and dedicated to their horses, unlike some English riders. Various snorts fell from Sayda's black muzzle as she looked ahead, tail wiggling against her hocks. ---------- "Well I've had Sayda here since she was a 2yo" The mare squealed at having her name mentioned and arched her neck some in that circular pattern that flexed out her neck. Giggling, Marie patted her thick neck roughly. "See? I told ya. Well her previous owner told me she was a birthday present for his daughter, but she was too wild for her likes" She stopped talking for a bit, rolling her eyes before shaking her head. "I don't think she is wild, just very misunderstood by most people unfortunately. She really is a lovely animal, heh you should see her chase, she adores it"

"Yeah, horses aren't meant to bounce around from owner to owner." It was weird that he thinks like that, his parents go through a lot of horses. Sort of. The mostly take in horses that need training and bordering. They moved away from the 'horse dealer' part of the business a few years back.
"Most horses are just cut out to be a one person horse." He was speaking through experience, Chaos could handle being ridden by other people but gets really sour after awhile. Pushing Chaos into a jog Reese pulled his shirt away from his body and fanned it. "Sometimes I just want to move to Alaska."

"Yes I one person horse, that's for sure" She nodded to him, vaguely remembering the time Sayda acted like a complete bronco when two other riders mounted her at different times. Glancing over to Reese, she caught him fanning his shirt before laughing. "Alaska? Or a pool?" But it was true, the heat out here in Texas was intense, a small bead of sweat rolling from her forehead to the side of her cheek. Sayda only picked up after Chaos, very well mannered and behaved, ears flicking back and front from time to time, bit loose.
"Well, even though I ride English, I bought a horse a few months back, that's all western and i figured it would be a hitch to ride him out with the new discipline, yea I regret that" Inwardly she blushed at her own embarrassment of not being to keen on western riding. "But your like the second person that I know that ride's western, aside from Leslie, you know, Marc's little sister?" She had spoken to the main owner a couple of times and even seen the lovely Leslie a few times along the barn, but she hadn't gotten the chance to ask. "because I need help riding western, I'm not such a flexible mover from English to Western and back"
The chestnut suddenly bounced to the left, almost running into Chaos as she leaned her head out to nip at the stallions mane in more then a playful gesture. Giving a small kick at her barrel, the mare stopped her place with an opposing snort before continuing along the trail quietly. Her neck wasn't as dark as before as the little wind that survived the heat ran across riders and horses.

Removing his hat from he proceeded to rake his fingers threw his hair. This heat was really getting to him. Apparently it was getting to Chaos too who's golden neck was now a deep brown color with sweat. "A pool in Alaska."He joked. A pool would be nice but he was more into lakes.Keeping Chaos at a slow jog he soon fell behind Zulmarie and the mare. "Yeah I know her." Nodding he listened to her talk about the other horse. "So you need help?"
The sudden outbreak of the mare startled Chaos, throwing his head in the air he sidestepped. Ignoring the studs little freak out he nudged him forward. Ears slightly pinned Chaos started up the trail again. Shacking his head Reese pulled on rein toward his stomach, asking for flexing. Exercises like this became part of the norm in their everyday riding, it was just a way to keep Chaos's attention on Reese and not every little thing that could be a 'danger'.

To his inquire she nodded, glancing back to him before making Sayda lean t the side of the trail, giving him a space to pull up besides her again. "Oh yes" The reins settled nicely against her palm as she pulled some of Sayda's mane to the side, keeping her in check. "Was born into English riding, and now I'd like to expand my abilities into western aswell" The mare did a small prance, watching the stallion from the corner of her eye, small nickers falling from her black velveteen. Her hooves thudding the soft grass below them with a rather soft cushion.
"In all honesty I have a deep mutual respect for people that ride western and all the cowboys and girls. It's like they have a deeper relationship with their horses you know?" Marie looked towards him, hoping he would understand what she meant. Of course English riders loved their horses, but it was always into competition, no fun, no love.No lie, she loved competition, but she knew that wasn't all there was to a bond between horse and rider. It's just that western brings it out better then English ever would...

Chaos was all out of steam, catching up to the other horse and rider combo he fell back into a walk. "I guess you could say that. Western riders are really no different then english riders. We have our pros and cons. We also have the people that are only concerned with the ribbon. Even the real 'cowboys' on any real working ranch care about their horses but rarely keep them around when they can no longer serve their purpose. I guess what I'm trying to get at is there are people like that in any discipline."
Sitting deeper in the saddle he let the reins slip threw his fingers and catch around the horn. Feeling confidant that Chaos wouldn't pull any stunts. "I do rope, cut, and rein but by no means does that make me a cowboy. I grew up on a typical quarter horse farm, we had cows but strictly to train and keep little kids entertained." He got that a lot. Especially around here where all there was was a bunch of english snobs. Probably because he always was away at a rodeo or a show.

"Well there's nothing wrong with being a cowboy, well not to me." A carefree shrug draped her shoulders, as her legs tensed, wanting to rush back to the barn now. Glancing back to him, a smirk crossing her lips as she felt Sayda start to flinch eagerly, ears pulled back, fully listening to Zulmarie. "Wanna race?" Another squeal broke form the mare's muzzle, as she bobbed her head eagerly, leaning over to nip at the stallion's cheek as if persuading him to agree, flasks of her mane hitting against the crease of her neck.
"Haha, lookit that, she's trying to get him to chase as well. I'm glad she get's 'along' with your Chaos" She said, letting the mare on a soft bit, knowing all was good now. Slowly a few strands of her bangs slipped out from behind her ears, resting against her rounded cheeks. It made her relax, knowing that the female was more at ease with another of her kind of the opposite gender. Horses from her previous academy avoided the flashy mare at all possible cost, here was another story.
